Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna
Our infrared sauna is medical-grade, clinically backed and proven 95-99% effective. The Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna is the only sauna on the market that combines three heating elements in order to deliver Near, Mid and Far infrared energy in a single heater system.
What is Infrared?
Infrared light (experienced as heat) is the invisible part of the sun’s spectrum with the ability to penetrate human tissue, giving a soothing, natural warmth. It is naturally occurring from the sun and is the basis for Sunlighten™ sauna therapy. Sunlighten’s Solocarbon infrared technology is therapeutic because it is 95-99% efficient at heating the body directly rather than simply heating the air. It works to raise the core body temperature to produce a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level where the majority of toxins reside.
Infrared Saunas vs. Traditional
Sunlighten saunas use infrared heat instead of hot rocks or steam used in traditional saunas. Traditional saunas heat the air at extremely high temperatures which can make the experience unbearably hot and difficult to breathe. Because infrared heats the body directly instead of simply heating the air, infrared saunas are seven times more effective for detoxification.
Note: The heater programs and the studies they are based on, are set using infrared wavelengths – not cabin temperature. Each program will take you through a variety of heater intensities and cabin temperatures. The efficacy of the program derives from the surface temperatures of the individual heaters not the air temperature.
How to Prepare
- Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment & check in. All sauna sessions are private
- Ensure your cell phone or any other devices are either turned off or set to silent
- Wait at least 1-2 hours after eating before beginning a sauna session. This allows your body to attain the best detoxification results. Hydrate with at least 8 oz. of water to prepare your body for an increase in core temperature
- Do not apply makeup, skin lotions, oils or perfume before or during your sauna session as this will inhibit sweating
- Bring your bathing suit, we provide you with a body wrap or robe and a towel to place on the bench seat to absorb perspiration during your session
- Is not recommended to have a sauna session when menstruating
- Wait at least 72 hours if you have applied artificial tanner
- Stretching your arms, legs and back area during your session creates more body flexibility. Massage congested and “knotty” muscle areas to help alleviate pain and tightness
- Wipe off sweat during your session to promote your body to sweat more or take a shower if you go in for a float next.
- After the sauna skip most oils, lotions and creams as many contain chemicals which clog your pores
- Relax for 10-15 minutes after a sauna session to allow your body to readjust. Rehydrate with at least 24 oz. of water or electrolyte drink
Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna Programs
Cardiovascular (Near, Mid and Far)
Starts at a high intensity to increase heart rate and cardiac output then lowers to sustain heart rate level. Circulation increases to promote healthy blood pressure. Cabin Temperature:Medium/High
Detoxification (Mid and Far)
Starts at a high intensity to increases the body’s core temperature then reduces to a low, comfortable intensity level. IR combination improves vascular access flow to reach toxins at the cellular level. Cabin Temperature:Medium
Pain relief (Near, Mid and Far)
An IR blend provides natural pain relief by reducing inflammation and swelling while near IR penetrate the tissue to promote cellular repair at a medium, constant intensity level. Cabin Temperature:High
Relaxation (Near, Mid and Far)
Far, mid and near infrared rays induce deep relaxation as they relieve muscle tension at a low, comfortable intensity promoting overall stress reduction with regular use. Cabin Temperature:Low
Weight loss (Mid and Far)
Starts at a high intensity to stimulate the cardiovascular system then reduces to a medium level. As the body works to cool itself, there is an increase in heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate similar to exercise. Studies have shown that a 30 min IR session can burn up to 600 calories. Cabin Temperature:Medium/High
Anti-aging (Near and Far)
A low, constant intensity level penetrates tissue to help with various skin concerns (acne, eczema, psoriasis, burns, cuts and more). Near IR improve overall skin tone, elasticity and firmness promoting anti-aging benefits.Cabin Temperature:Low
